Obituary of Barbara Carol Womack

Funeral services for Barbara Addington Womack, age 80, of Troup Texas are scheduled for Saturday, January 26th 10am at Cottle Funeral Home in Troup, Texas with Pastors Rohn Boone and Richard Boone officiating.  Burial will be at Union Grove Cemetery.  Barbara passed away on January 23rd in Tyler Texas.

Barbara was born in Burkburnett, Texas to William Henry Harrison Addington II and Grace Quinette Addington on May 17, 1938.  She worked for ophthalmologist Jerry Parrish at Eye Care Associates until retirement.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Freddie Womack, and her parents.

Barbara is survived by her siblings Grace, David, Lloyd, and Brenda; as well as survived by her beloved children whom she often said were her greatest blessings:  Buster (Ann) Womack, Roni (Jim) McCasland, Terry (Susan) Womack, and Duane (Terry) Womack.  Also surviving are the grandchildren she loved so much: Joey (Mindy) Womack, Jamie (Danny) Williams, Beamer Womack, Shane (Tiffany) McCasland, Dusty (Catherine) McCasland, Ashley (Matt) Hodges, Misty (Casey) Shaw, Jared (Hali) Womack, Trey (Caitlin) Womack, Holli (Trey) Tate, and Anthony Womack.  She is additionally survived by her 25 great grandchildren that she adored: Hunter and Logan Womack, Austin, Caleb, Connor, Levi, and Luke McCasland, Judith, Chase, Grant, Colton, Rylie, Katie, and Gabe McCasland, Tori, Colton, Orinn, Justus, and Lilah Hodges, Olivia Kelley and Allie Shaw, Kase and Kopper Womack, Cash and Quinn Tate.

Barbara loved for her family to be together during the holidays.  She would cook for days in preparation, enough to feed an army. She was an amazing cook and she lovingly shared her knowledge to many of the young ladies in her family.  She loved all of her family no matter if you were hers by birth or hers by marriage, you were hers.  She was a devoted mother and grandmother.  She took the time to know about the lives of every family member and helped in whatever way she was able.  She was a source of encouragement, strength, and wisdom.  She never missed a birthday, wedding, birth, or graduation.  She grieved when her loved ones grieved, and she delighted when her loved ones celebrated.  She was a force for good to all those that knew her.  She had a strong and generous spirit with an endless work ethic.  She loved her family unconditionally.  She was the embodiment of the Prov. 31 woman.  She was a Christian and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wright City.

In lieu of flowers, you may make donations in Barbara’s memory to Hope for the World, P.O. Box 629 Stockbridge, Georgia 30281.  Hope for the World is a home for children who have no other living options.

Pallbearers will be grandsons:  Joey Womack, Shane McCasland, Dusty McCasland, Jared Womack, Trey Womack, and a great grandson Austin McCasland.  Honorary pallbearer will be Anthony Womack.
