Services for George Ed Carlile, 77, Arp, are scheduled for 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at Arp Emmanuel Baptist Church with Reverend Ron Klingsick officiating. Services will conclude at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home, Overton.
George Ed Carlile was born August 31, 1941 in Troup, Texas to Wiley Ed Carlile and Flora Ward Carlile.
He grew up and was raised in Jacksonville. He worked for Entex/Centerpoint Energy and retired after 30 years of service in the cities of Trinity, Huntsville and Marshall. He served several years as a deacon in Dorcas Wills Church in Trinity. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Masters Degree in Criminal Justice from Sam Houston State University in 1978. He proudly served his country in the US Navy for 6 years, 4 active duty and 2 inactive duty. He was involved in many civic organizations; the Marshall Chamber of Commerce, Marshall City Commissioner, served as a board member for his company’s credit union, Rotary Club and many others.
He is preceded in death by his parents and infant daughter, Sherri Carlile, along with his step-daughter, Vicki Morgan.
He is survived by his wife Annabell Carlile, his daughter, Karen Denman, son, Matthew Carlile, grand daughter, Jordyn Denman and grandson, Alexander Carlile. He also leaves behind step daughter, Regina Meyer and husband Rodney, as well as step son, Chad Arnold and wife Cindy. Ed is also survived by his brother, Robert (Butch) Carlile and wife Diane, sister, Nita Horn and husband Fay, and sister Pam Ferguson. He leaves behind many other cousins, nieces and nephews.
He loved genuinely, not just family, many friends as well.
Honorary pallbearers will be Matt Ward, Tony Carlile, Chad Arnold, Mike Copeland, Lonnie Petty, Jessie Arnold and Deanie Stephens.
