Buster was born May 22, 1930 to the late Henry Earl Brown and Rosa Olive Warner Brown in Jayton, TX. He was a farmer/rancher, spent his happiest days in Buncum building endless barbed wire fences, hauling hay and feeding his cattle was a big part of his day. He grew the best cantaloupes, the juiciest tomatoes and the sweetest corn. Most importantly he outmaneuvered those watermelon-stealing coyotes with a maze of electric fence to get the ultimate prize. The competition was fierce between the Brown siblings for the best watermelon of the season. He was a man of determination. Buster was a long time member of the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.

Buster retired from Diamond Shamrock after many years of service. He was married to Elva Sue Williamson on April 3, 1953 in Pasadena, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of almost 57 years.

He served in the United States Marines from November 1949 to March 1952.
