Honorary Graveside services for Bobbie Anne Courson, 87, of Arp will be 1:00 pm, Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Pine Forest Cemetery in Hopkins County with Reverend Tommy Harden officiating. Arrangements are under direction of Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home in Overton.
Mrs. Courson passed away Tuesday, May 2 at Hospice Home Place in Tyler. She was born September 26, 1929 in Bowie County to the late Onie Vastle and Lula Mae Pinkham Hale. She retired from AT&T in 1989 and moved to Arp in 2000 from Lindale. She was a member of Bascom United Methodist Church and loved teaching Sunday School. She enjoyed gardening, working outside and loving her grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Mrs. Courson was preceded in death by her husband, Leldon Lee Courson April 12, 2000; a brother, Onie Vastle Hale, Jr.; two sisters, Nona Ruth Toles and Joyce Elaine Hale.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Vince Taliaferro of Arp; a son and daughter-in-law, Roger Dale and Rhonda Courson of Henderson; a brother, Jimmy Hale of Sulphur Springs; five grandchildren and their spouses, Alyssa and Ben Haynes, Tara Courson, Christopher and Rachel Taliaferro, Dusty Taliaferro and Michael Chapman; two great grandchildren, Harper Haynes and Holt Haynes; and numerous nieces and nephews. Honorary pallbearers are Christopher Taliaferro, Dusty Taliaferro, Ben Haynes and Bud Toles.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Friday, May 5, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
